Block starting Oct 25th – November 29th 2017
Wild Time Forest School runs in 6 week blocks – we meet every Wednesday evening after school from 3.45 until 5.45 in Lanark Race Course Woodland, Hyndford Road, Lanark
For Children in P1 up to and including S1
At Forest School we encourage and inspire individuals to enjoy the opportunities offered by natural play.
By participating in engaging, motivating and achievable tasks and activities in a woodland environment each child has an opportunity to develop intrinsic motivation and balanced emotional and social skills.
Forest Schools has demonstrated success with children of all ages who visit local woodlands on a regular basis. Through play and self-directed learning in the natural environment, children have the opportunity to learn how to manage risks and most importantly how to use their own initiative to solve problems, communicate and co-operate with others.
At ‘ Wild Time’ children will have the opportunity to try things such as building dens, making tree swings, play and exploring the stream, climbing trees, making bows and arrows, building and lighting a fire, toasting marshmallows……. and much more – Children are only limited by their own imagination!
As the dark nights creep in, we will provide lighting and torches as the children add a new element to their adventure!
£42 per block (only £7/session)
All sessions are led by qualified Forest School Leaders who hold their Outdoor First Aid Qualification – All Staff have their PVG’s.
We run a very high Leader to Learner ratio to ensure children get the most from their Forest School experience!
