Meet The Team

Jackie Simpson – Founder & Project Leader

I’m Jackie and I founded OutLET: Play Resource in 2016 after seeing first hand the benefits that playing outdoors had on child development and wellbeing.

I strongly believe that every child should have access to the types of education that meet their needs and outdoor learning provides a sensory rich, child centred environment which can support young people to thrive.

I am a Forest School Leader and a Therapeutic Forest Approved Provider.

Susan McNeish – Training Coordinator

My name is Susan and I’m the training coordinator at OutLET: Play Resource.

Prior to joining the team  here I was a Countryside Ranger and loved passing on my knowledge to others. Although the more i learn myself the more I realise that there is just SO much more to learn.

Delivering training is a passion of mine. I love meeting others as they start their journey and then keeping in touch with them as their skills grow and develop.

Leigh Mackay – Forest School Leader

My name is Leigh McKay and I have been a forest school leader since 2014.

I am also a Primary School Teacher and have worked in Scotland and various international schools over the last 20 years.

Delivering forest school sessions to young people is my passion and I have been able to do this since working with OutLET: Play Resource over the last three years.

Jennifer McInnes – Play Ranger

My Name is Jennifer McInnes and I’m one of the Play Rangers at OutLET: Play Resource.

One of my roles in OutLET is inclusion!  I strongly believe that all people should have access to the benefits of outdoor learning and I make it my mission to to ensure that we make changes and adpatations needed so that everyone can join us in the woods.

When I’m not in work I really enjoy spending time outdoors and meeting new people. I also like listening to lots of music and play guitar, samba drums and percussion when I can!

Ross Winter – Play Ranger

My Name is Ross Winter and I’m one of the Play Rangers at OutLET: Play Resource.

My passion is introducing people to the wonders of nature. I love to experiment with different natural resources and discover what we can use them to ‘survive’ in the wild.
When I’m not working, I enjoy finding remote places to go camping and taking my family and friends on adventures.
