Why Choose Us
FSA Recognised Forest School Providers
We are the only FSA Recognised Forest School Provider in Lanarkshire and one of the very few in Scotland.
This means that we fully adhere to the six Forest School principles and deliver in line with good practice.
The Criteria of good practice are outlined below:
Principle 1: Forest School is a long-term process of frequent and regular sessions in a woodland or natural environment, rather than a one-off visit. Planning, adaptation, observations and reviewing are integral elements of Forest School.
Principle 2: Forest School takes place in a woodland or natural wooded environment to support the development of a relationship between the learner and the natural world.
Principle 3: Forest School aims to promote the holistic development of all those involved, fostering resilient, confident, independent and creative learners
Principle 4: Forest School offers learners the opportunity to take supported risks appropriate to the environment and to themselves.
Principle 5. Forest School is run by qualified Forest School practitioners who continuously maintain and develop their professional practice.
Principle 6. Forest School uses a range of learner-centred processes to create a community for development and learning
Therapeutic Forest Practitioner
Our staff members have undergone specialist training to ensure that their practice is inclusive to people with a wide range of needs.
We look at the ‘whole’ child and use non directive developmental therapies to aid in sensory development.
We are skilled at working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and are able to support the emotional wellbeing of children in the Forest setting.
We have an understanding of attachment and can match strategies and communication to suit different attachment styles.
By encompassing all of this, we deliver inclusive and life changing programmes.
Living Wage Employer
When booking with us you can be sure that all the staff are recieveing the real living wage.
It’s important to us that we pay out staff fairly for their time, skills and knowledge.
Social Enterprise
OutLET: Play Resource is a social enterprise – this means that we have no share holders or directors to pay.
All money spent with us is reinvested and helps us support play directly within communities.
